Bart Stephan
President and CEO

Bart Stephan joined the firm in 2005 as President and CEO bringing 25 years experience in sales, marketing and senior level management in the elevator consulting industry. His expertise and industry knowledge is valuable as he guides the firm to meet its mission of global leadership as a consulting services firm dedicated to excellence in design and management of building systems; including vertical and horizontal transportation, materials management, façade access and physical plant. Additionally, Bart is committed to providing clients with innovative, sustainable solutions while demonstrating professionalism and integrity. He is also dedicated to continually develop the skills of Lerch Bates employees and maximize quality of life through strong leadership, personal growth opportunities, a desirable working environment and service to the community.

Jeff Schultz
Executive Vice President, Corporate Development

Jeff Schultz joined Lerch Bates in 2006 after an extensive career with KONE, Inc. in sales and management at a variety of locations throughout the US. Bringing a background in the elevator industry as well as a degree in Business Administration, specializing in Marketing from Iowa State University, Jeff is responsible for the corporate development of Lerch Bates. His responsibilities include strategic growth planning, services expansion, acquisitions, branding, website management and the overall marketing strategy. In addition, Jeff has oversight management responsibilities for Lerch Bates’ Middle East operations.

Jay Popp
Executive Vice President, International

Jay Popp has had an impressive 30 year career with Lerch Bates. He is currently Executive Vice President for the Asia Pacific region and Middle East. His extensive experience in Elevator Consulting has included roles in Engineering. Architectural Coordination and Consulting on projects throughout the world. Jay has extensive experience on high rise buildings and major hotels in Buenos Aires, Dubai, the Middle East, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Beijing, Shanghai, Nanjing, China and Podolsk, Russia. Additionally, Jay has consulted on stadiums and arenas, with consulting work for more than 20 very well recognized facilities. Sports venues he has consulted on include the Atlanta Olympic Stadium, Bank One Ball Park in Phoenix, Arizona, Invesco Field at Mile High in Denver, Colorado and the Charlotte Arena in Charlotte, North Carolina. Other fan favorite facilities where Jay has lent his expertise are Soldier’s Field in Chicago and Lambeau Field in Greenbay Wisconsin and Madison Square Garden in New York. Well traveled and very well experienced, Jay is a valued member of the Lerch Bates leadership team.

Jeff Marsh
Business Line Manager, Facade Access Consulting Group
Jeff Marsh joined Lerch Bates in 2005, as Project Manager for the Denver Regional office. He started his elevator career as a construction helper, for Montgomery Elevator Company in 1984. Since that time, Jeff has held various sales and management positions for Montgomery Elevator Company/KONE in locations throughout the country. His current role with Lerch Bates as Business Line Manager for the Façade Access Group includes responsibility for the firm’s management and growth of the Façade Access Group. He has worked with his clients to provide consulting services for several recognizable projects across the United States and the Middle East. These projects include office buildings, stadiums, convention centers and resort and leisure properties.

Hubert Roach
Business Line Manager, Materials Management/Materials Handling

Hubert Roach joined Lerch Bates in 1987 and serves as Business Line Manager for the Materials Management & Materials Handling (MMMH) service line. Hubert has worked with more than 300 healthcare facilities in the US, Canada and England during his thirty year career and has been responsible for master planning, space and functional programming, equipment planning, and department and system designs. He has helped clients develop their supply chain / material management operations; shipping / receiving docks; waste management operations and systems, environmental services and housekeeping operations; materials handling and distribution systems; and central hospital sterile processing operations and equipment. A seasoned expert in healthcare facilities, Hubert can insure that your facility will operate as planned and as designed.

John Sellen
District Manager, San Francisco
John Sellen joined Lerch Bates in 2006 bringing 25 years of industry experience including the past six years as a consultant. Previously positions included Project Management, Sales Management and Sales for ThyssenKrupp Elevator, Dover Elevator and Fujitec Elevator. Among his many consulting projects is work at various Wells Fargo properties; Kaiser Permanente, the United States Mint, the United States Postal Service Embarcadero and the University of California Medical Center – San Francisco. He has also worked with several clients in the residential real estate development, including Classic Residences by Hyatt, Christian Church Homes and Presbyterian Homes and Services. John’s diverse projects list also includes public projects for the San Francisco Housing Authority and the San Francisco Unified School District. While working on the elevator company side of the business, John was Project Manager for installation of elevators at the San Francisco Airport Expansion project and for II Prudential Plaza in Chicago. John has a degree in Architectural Studies from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign.

Anne Miller
Project Manager, Materials Management/Materials Handling
Anne Miller joined Lerch Bates in 2009, as a project manager in the Materials Management/Materials Handling discipline in Denver, Colorado. Anne is responsible for assisting healthcare architects in the areas of master planning, functional and space programming, equipment design, departmental layout, and bid documentation for new construction. She also collaborates with other Lerch Bates consultants in the areas of elevator and façade access consulting services. Anne began her career working in the healthcare industry on design projects throughout the Midwest. Prior to joining Lerch Bates, Anne worked for Denver-based Fentress Architects where she gained exposure to the design of large civic projects and design competitions. Anne holds a Bachelor of Architecture with Distinction from Iowa State University. She is further distinguished in her professional career by her licenses to practice architecture in the states of Colorado and Wisconsin, a National Council of Architectural Registration Boards certification, and she is a LEED accredited professional.
