Lerch Bates Appoints John Mandigo Project Manager, Elevator Consulting Group

Brings More Than 13 Years of Engineering and Management Experience to South Florida Office

John MandigoLerch Bates, an international consulting firm for vertical transportation, façade access and materials management, announced John Mandigo has been named project manager, elevator consulting group. He joins the world’s largest and oldest vertical transportation consulting firm in its greater Miami office with more than 13 years of notable industry experience.

In his new role with Lerch Bates, Mandigo is tasked with providing vertical transportation consulting services for design, maintenance, due diligence and modernizations throughout Florida. He previously managed modernization and new construction projects for ThyssenKrupp Elevator in northern Florida where he specialized in growth strategy development, financial and capital planning and expenditure analysis. During his tenure at the firm, Mandigo was instrumental in the intensive growth of the company in the state by capitalizing on the implementation of new product technologies. He spearheaded many notable projects for ThyssenKrupp Elevator including Tampa’s Bank of America Plaza, a 16-elevator destination dispatch modernization and the modernization project for the Orange County Courthouse in Orlando, another project where destination dispatch technology was utilized to increase traffic flow.

Mandigo’s extensive career also includes serving as a modernization manager at Otis Elevator Company in Miami and as a thermodynamics sales engineer where he identified innovative energy saving solutions through psychometrics and engineering applications.  One of the most demanding and rewarding projects included a $52 million retrofit at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. He has been involved with negotiations exceeding $100 million thus far in his career in industries such as healthcare, government, mixed-use development, universities, hotel and resort, manufacturing and commercial.

Mandigo’s strong technical and business background is supported by his education. He earned a Master of Science degree in major program management from the University of Oxford, a Master of Science in engineering co-sponsored by The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, a MBA from Stetson University and a Bachelor of Science degree in industrial engineering from Florida State University.

Joins World’s Largest and Oldest Vertical Transportation Firm with 15 Years of Industry Experience

Mike LyonLerch Bates, an international consulting firm for vertical transportation, façade access and materials management, announced industry veteran Mike Lyon has been named project manager, elevator consulting group, in its Washington, D.C., office. He joins the firm with more than 15 years of leadership and sales experience in the elevator industry.

In his new role with Lerch Bates, Lyon is tasked with providing vertical transportation consulting services for design, inspection, maintenance, due diligence and modernization throughout the region. He most recently served as a new equipment engineer for KONE in Washington, D.C., and as an accountant manager for Otis Elevator Company in Maryland. Lyon also has worked as a sales representative for Eklund’s, a custom cab manufacturer and cab interior finish-out fabricator, and EMCO (Elevator Modernization Company).

Lyon earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in risk management and insurance (RMI) from the University of Georgia’s Terry College of Business in Athens, Georgia.

Lerch Bates Appoints Cole Ganser Project Manager In Pacific Southwest Region

Joins Firm with Valuable Experience in Vertical Transportation Industry in Southern California

Cole GanserLerch Bates, an international consulting firm for vertical transportation, façade access and materials management, announced Cole Ganser has joined the firm as project manager in its Glendale office. He has more than seven years of extensive experience in the vertical transportation industry.

In his new role with Lerch Bates, Ganser is tasked with providing vertical transportation consulting services for design, maintenance, due diligence and modernizations throughout Southern Calif. He most recently served as the Burbank and Santa Barbara branch manager for ThyssenKrupp where he provided leadership for the service, repair and modernization of traction and hydraulic elevators.

Lerch Bates Appoints Jim Turner Project Manager, Great Lakes Region

Industry Veteran Has More Than 22 Years of Experience in Vertical Transportation Industry

Jim TurnerLerch Bates announced that vertical transportation industry leader Jim Turner has been named project manager, elevator consulting group, in its Great Lakes area office. Turner joins the world’s oldest and largest consulting firm for vertical transportation, façade access and building logistics armed with more than 22 years of comprehensive experience in the elevator and escalator industry and with professional services firms in the building industry.

Turner is tasked with supporting the Great Lakes Region’s operations by providing vertical transportation consulting services for new installation designs, maintenance, due diligence and modernization projects with a particular focus on the greater Chicago area.

“Our project manager team continues to grow with the brightest and most talented professionals in the industry,” said Lerch Bates President and CEO Bart Stephan. “Jim is a respected and renowned leader in vertical transportation and I’m delighted that he has joined our Great Lakes Region. He’s the perfect fit for Lerch Bates as our firm continues to expand in the Chicago metropolitan area.”

Turner most recently served as national project developer at mechanical, electrical and plumbing industry leader KJWW. He spent the entirety of his vertical transportation career working for Montgomery Elevator Company and KONE. Following assignments in the Montgomery/KONE branch network, Turner focused the majority of his career on the development of the modernization business line. As vice president, modernization, he supported all elements of the modernization business including new product introduction, sales, engineering and installation.

Turner holds a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering technology from Southern Illinois University and management certification from KONE Executive Edge/London Business School.
