Lerch Bates Appoints Paul Gauthier Project Manager In Calgary

Gauthier Joins Firm as Office Development Continues to Boom in Alberta’s Largest City

Paul GauthierLerch Bates announced that Paul Gauthier has joined the international consulting firm for vertical transportation, façade access and materials management as project manager. He has served in numerous leadership roles in the vertical transportation industry from account management to overseeing modernizations for more than 15 years.

Gauthier is tasked with providing vertical transportation consulting services for designs, maintenance, due diligence and modernizations throughout greater Calgary. The metropolitan area is currently the biggest office development market in Canada and continues to gain momentum. He joins Lerch Bates as the firm continues to expand its project manager team in North America with vertical transportation industry veterans.

Gauthier has extensive industry experience including new equipment and technologies, modernizations, service repair and maintenance. He most recently worked as a national account manager for Fujitec Canada where he was involved with all aspects of the firm’s operation in Calgary. He began his vertical transportation career with Thyssen Dover, now ThyssenKrupp, where he worked on the elevator systems for large residential projects.

Gauthier is a graduate of Southern Alberta Institute of Technology in Calgary.

Lerch Bates Appoints John P. Egan Regional Manager In Toronto

Brings to Firm More Than 27 Years of Experience in Vertical Transportation Industry

Lerch Bates announced that vertical transportation industry veteran John P. Egan, P. Eng., has been named regional manager, elevator consulting group, in its Toronto area office. Egan joins the world’s oldest and largest consulting firm for vertical transportation, façade access and materials management bringing more than 27 years of comprehensive elevator and escalator industry experience.

Egan is tasked with supporting Canadian operations in providing vertical transportation consulting services for new installation designs, maintenance, due diligence and modernization projects with a particular focus on the greater Toronto. Egan most recently served as national sales manager, modernization, at Schindler. Egan has also worked with Fujitec and Otis Elevator Company in various roles including business development, operations management and general management.

Egan earned a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering as well as a master’s degree in civil engineering, in the area of project and construction management, both from the University of Waterloo. John also holds an A-Class Elevating Devices Mechanic license (EDM-A) and continues to serve on industry committees.

Welts Joins International Consulting Firm with More Than 19 Years of Industry Experience

Ron Welts Lerch Bates announced vertical transportation industry veteran Ron Welts has been named project manager, elevator consulting group, in its San Francisco office. Welts joins the world’s oldest and largest consulting firm for vertical transportation, façade access and materials management with more than 19 years of extensive elevator and escalator industry experience.

Welts is tasked with providing vertical transportation consulting services for designs, maintenance, due diligence and modernizations throughout Northern California. He most recently served as an elevator installation superintendent providing leadership for the installation of traction and hydraulic elevators and escalators for KONE in the greater San Francisco area. Ron also worked for Otis Elevator Company for 14 years in numerous roles including service operations manager, general manager, service supervisor and construction superintendent. He also served in the United States Navy as a commissioned officer in the early 1990s.

Welts earned a Bachelor of Science in marine transportation from California Maritime Academy and a Master of Business Administration degree from St. Mary’s College of California.
