Lerch Bates Promotes Lance McMasters To Business Line Manager, Facade Access

McMasters Joined Firm in 2006 and Has Worked on Landmark Projects around the World

Lance McMastersLerch Bates, an international consulting firm for vertical transportation, façade access and materials management, has promoted Lance McMasters to business line manager, façade access consulting group. He previously served for as a district manager, façade access consulting group, providing façade access analysis and design.

McMasters will provide daily leadership in achieving efficient and professional delivery of façade access services including façade access maintenance evaluations and the design and construction of façade access equipment. He also will recruit, hire, train, develop and appraise the management and technical consulting staff of the the firm. Additionally, McMasters will ensure that highly motivated and technically trained personnel are in appropriate markets to meet strategic goals and objectives. He will continue to work out of Lerch Bates’ San Francisco, Calif., office.

McMasters has worked on many prestigious high-rise projects including the 2,717-foot Burj Khalifa in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, 2,086-foot Wuhan Greenland Center in Wuhan, China and the 1,263-foot Capital Market Authority (“CMA”) tower in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

He serves as a co-chair for Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat’s (CTBUH) Working Group, Façade Access, and on the ASME A120.1 code committee for “Safety Requirements for Powered Platforms and Traveling Ladders and Gantries for Building Maintenance.” He also is an active member in the Scaffold and Access Industry Association (SIA), Construction Specification Institute (CSI), American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) and the International Window Cleaners Association (IWCA).

McMasters earned a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering from California State University, Chico, in Chico, Calif.

Lerch Bates To Provide Maintenance Management Services For Retailer Forever 21

Three-Year Contract Includes 144 Stores in the United States and Puerto Rico

Los Angeles-based fashion retailer Forever 21 has selected Lerch Bates to provide elevator and escalator management services for 144 stores located throughout the United States and Puerto Rico.

Lerch Bates, an international consulting firm for vertical transportation, façade access and materials management, has designed a custom maintenance management program for Forever 21 that includes 168 elevators and 238 escalators. The three-year contract includes the evaluation of all service contracts with elevator and escalator repair companies, managing the rebidding process for new service contracts, selecting new elevator and escalator service providers and reviewing all service invoices to ensure accuracy. Lerch Bates also will perform on-site surveys and equipment analysis, maintenance audits of the systems, compilation of statistical analysis reports, reviews of maintenance findings and development strategies for the systems.

Lerch Bates announced in March that it had been selected by Hilton Worldwide, Inc. to provide elevator and escalator maintenance management services for the company’s Hilton portfolio in the United States. The firm designed a custom maintenance management program to support and improve the ongoing maintenance and repair of Hilton’s elevators and escalators. The Hilton owned, managed and franchised properties participating in the program exceeds 4,300 elevators and escalators in more than 1,400 hotels across the country.

Firm Hires Experienced Elevator Sales and Customer Service Leader in the Chicagoland Area

Charlie GeistLerch Bates announced Charlie Geist has joined the company as project manager, elevator consulting group, in its Chicago office. Geist joins the international consulting firm for vertical transportation, façade access and materials management with more than seven years of leadership and sales experience in the elevator industry.

Geist is tasked with managing Lerch Bates’ elevator consulting services in the region including new equipment design, modernizations, maintenance evaluations, construction services and due diligence assessments. He also will support the firm’s design and construction services for façade access and materials management and handling systems as the company continues to steadily grow in the region.

Geist previously served as a senior business consultant for KONE in its Chicago branch. He also worked as a sales representative for Master Elevator Company and as an account manager for Advanced Elevator Company.

Geist earned a Bachelor of Science degree in aviation maintenance management specializing in nondestructive testing from Lewis University. He also holds an Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) mechanics license.

Baker Joins International Consulting Firm with Three Decades of Industry Experience

Robert BakerLerch Bates announced respected industry veteran Robert Baker has been named business line manager, logistics consulting group. Baker is a seasoned leader with more than thirty years of experience in design consulting and engineering documentation. He joins the firm in its metropolitan Denver world headquarters.

Baker’s vast experience includes consulting on materials management, waste management and materials handling projects throughout the United States. He also has had extensive involvement with complex systems including automated transport systems, distribution centers and waste processing departments and has experience in healthcare, mixed-use and transportation projects. He previously managed a busy computer aided drafting and engineering department for a major foodservice consulting firm. Baker also has provided consulting and design services on significant materials handling projects utilizing both advanced technology and more traditional solutions. He is exceptionally proficient with both Revit and AutoCAD software.

Lerch Bates Appoints Garrett Brown Project Manager, Elevator Consulting Group

International Consulting Firm Poised to Increase Market Share in the Southeast Region

Brown GarrettLerch Bates announced industry leader Garrett Brown has been named project manager, elevator consulting group. Brown is an essential addition to Lerch Bates’ metropolitan Atlanta office and will play an integral role in expanding the company’s market share in the region.

In his new role with Lerch Bates, an international consulting firm for vertical transportation, façade access and materials management, Brown is tasked with overseeing maintenance evaluations, modernization services and vertical transportation analysis and design. He previously served as an account manager for Otis Elevator Company where he was responsible for contract negotiations, modernizations, upgrades, capital planning and business development. During his tenure, he managed elevator and escalator modernizations and upgrades in Atlanta’s downtown and high-rise market. Brown also worked as a regional service sales representative for KONE where he significantly increased sales in his territory of Kentucky and western Ohio.
